ANZIIF release video in response to global IT outage

The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) have released a snapshot video, titled ‘IT outage: Are you ready?’ in response to the recent Global IT outage that occurred Friday the 19th of July.
The outage was caused by a faulty CrowdStrike software update, and impacted millions of individuals and businesses, many of whom made insurance claims to cover their losses.
The snapshot outlines what insurers can anticipate following an IT outage and prompts them to consider how they can best support clients to mitigate business and cyber risks.
“In instances like these, the value of having a trusted insurance professional who is able to understand your business and place you with the correct protections is vital”, states ANZIIF CEO, Katrina Shanks.
“In these changing times it has never been more important to understand the needs of your clients and the insurance products which provide your clients with the right protections and peace of mind”.
