Australian investment manager Munro Partners has completed its acquisition of GSFM Funds Management Pty Ltd (GSFM) from Munro’s Canadian investment partner CI Global Asset Management (CI GAM), marking a new growth phase in their $9 billion partnership.
The transaction follows approval from Australia’s Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB), with Munro acquiring funds management business GSFM, which is CI GAM’s Australian fund management business.
Under the agreement, CI GAM, one of Canada’s largest investment management companies, receives an increased minority ownership stake in Munro, further strengthening their long-term partnership.
GSFM’s Australian distribution team and funds management operation have been integrated into Munro, which will continue to distribute GSFM funds.
There are no changes to Munro’s investment management team, investment approach or investment process.
