This ground-breaking book explores how psychology, counselling, coaching and therapy integrate within the financial planning process and enhance the role of a financial planner. Behavioural finance is a growing area, but content to date has largely focused on the intersection of psychology and financial behaviour, Psychology in Practice: Financial Planner Essentials goes beyond this to explore new research in the psychology of financial planning. Published by the Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB), the content provides insights based on the financial planning process and demonstrates the practical application of this knowledge.

This exclusive workshop, for Australian CFP Professionals, is facilitated by one of the Australian authors of the book and provides a first-hand introduction to the common biases and heuristics seen in financial advice client behaviours. Attendees will come away with a deeper understanding of the client decision-making process as they examine processes that enable financial planning professionals to successfully guide clients through the financial advice journey. Participants will be challenged to consider their own biases and how they can impact the financial planning process.
