This seminar will focus on ‘Behavioural Finance’.

Behavioural finance demonstrates that human decision making is often driven by emotion and biases. For most people, it is a challenge to recognise these biases as they occur – particularly in themselves. In the context of investments, such biases can lead to herding and poor decision making. LJ will discuss:

• ‘Behavioural Finance’ and the investor’s chief problem
• Decision making systems – emotional vs. logical
• Examples of human biases & irrational behaviour
• How these behaviours appear in financial markets
• A practical solution – some suggestions
