Centrelink – Rural Succession Planning and Farm Allowances

The FPA New England Chapter would like to invite you to join us at our first event for 2015, on Thursday, 12 February.

During this event you will hear from The Department of Human Services (Centrelink), who will be presenting two very topical sessions.

The first session will be presented by Susan Hatton, Farm House Case Officer, DHS.Susan will present on the new National Drought Program that came into effect on 1 July 2014. These new measures include a farm household allowance (income support for eligible farmers). Given the conditions of rural Australia, it is important to understand what’s involved, the eligibility criteria and the benefits available with this new legislation.

The second session will be an informative look at Rural Succession & Pensions, the options available and the Extended Land Use Test. This session will be presented by Paul Hyson (Financial Information Services Officer, DHS).
