The presentation will focus on the latest version of the CCIV proposal, released earlier in January, which contains substantial and important revisions to the regime.

The presentation will particularly cover:

• Whether the latest changes to the CCIV have addressed the major concerns raised by Australian fund managers, particularly the concerns relating to the depositary requirements and the tax rules
• The importance of the revised proposal for the competitiveness of Australia’s funds management industry, particularly in the context of the Asia Region Funds Passport
• How various fund management vehicles (including CCIVs, MITs and LICs) compare under the revised proposal
• Whether fund managers should transition existing funds into the CCIV, or set up new funds as CCIVs
