Andrew Shakespeare named AFA’s Rising Star

From

Andrew Shakespeare of JSA Financial Planning Group (NSW) has been named this year’s Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) Rising Star.

The AFA Rising Star of the Year Award (the Award), which is proudly supported by OnePath (formerly ING Australia), was established in 2005 and recognises the best new adviser talent emerging in Australia who has excelled in four key areas: giving advice, business acumen, community service and industry service.

Announcing Mr Shakespeare’s win at the AFA National Conference on the Gold Coast this afternoon, AFA CEO Richard Klipin said that it was Andrew’s passion to increase the number of Australians seeking holistic financial advice that gave him the edge over the other finalists.

“Andrew believes there is always a need for financial advice, irrespective of a person’s age or investment preference,” Mr Klipin said. “He embodies all that this Award represents: he is well educated, passionate, leads a thriving business, is a key part of his community and brings a wonderful balance and vision to his profession. He is the future of our profession.”

Mr Klipin said the calibre of this year’s finalists again exceeded expectations. “I can really see lives in progress, careers in progress, an industry in transformation, the genesis of the future,” he said. “It’s a thrill to watch the progress of young advisers and witness their personal and professional growth.”

Kevin Goss, Head of Insurance Sales at OnePath said OnePath is proud to lend its new name to the Award.  “The Rising Star award is all about excellence, innovation, encouragement, passion and the future,” he said. “As ING Australia we have supported the Award since inception. As OnePath we will continue to be passionate advocates of advice and take great pleasure in supporting the Award.”
