Ratings house Lonsec has awarded a ‘Recommended’ rating to the LHP Diversified Investments Fund. The fund is distributed by Certitude Global Investments to the Australian market.
The ‘Recommended’ rating indicates Lonsec’s conviction that the fund can achieve its objectives and, if applicable, outperform peers over an appropriate investment timeframe.
The LHP Diversified Investments Fund is a fund of hedge funds which invests in a range of specialist international managers with diversified underlying hedge fund strategies, including; relative value, long/short equity, market neutral equity, credit, fixed income, and global trading. Its main objective is to achieve consistent absolute returns with a low correlation to traditional markets over the investment horizon (3-5 years).
The Lonsec report noted that the LHP fund’s performance over the 3 years to 30 April 2012 has been in line with the fund’s performance objectives, showing returns of 10.06% p.a. (versus a peer average of 4.52% p.a.).
In its review of the fund Lonsec endorsed the LHP investment team, reporting that they are of a high quality. Lonsec acknowledged that LHP has spent significant time and resources developing its managed account platform and regards this to be a key strength of the LHP Diversified Investments Fund. Lonsec supports the use of managed accounts for their associated benefits of transparency and control over assets.
