Increasingly, advice professionals are building their knowledge and skills to deliver effective aged care solutions for clients.

Louise Biti, Director at Aged Care Steps said “We are proud to celebrate the milestone of training 1,000 professionals on aged care”. Our Accredited Aged Care ProfessionalTM program in particular has given professionals the confidence to provide aged care advice and help them gain recognition for their expertise” she added.

Michael Bowman from South Australia was the one thousandth professional to complete an aged care training workshop with Aged Care Steps. Michael has been an accountant for 14 years and his practice includes financial planning support for clients.

Mr Bowman explained “I saw the potential in offering aged care services for my clients and their families”. He continued “I told a client who is in her 50’s that I had completed an aged care accreditation course and interestingly she replied that her group of friends had recently discussed aged care. As a result, she will tell her friends about my qualification”.

As his next step, Mr Bowman intends on providing clients with a brochure on aged care which they can read while waiting for him to do their tax returns. “I will be also marketing my aged care services on Facebook and on my website” advised Mr Bowman.

When asked for feedback on the Aged Care Steps Accreditation Program, he replied “It was very good. Well structured, well written and well presented”.

Mr Bowman’s advice to other professionals considering aged care services is: “Learn as much as you can about the industry, talk to everyone about aged care and this will lead to enquiries”. He added “There is more attention on the needs of ageing clients because there are more of us around and therefore there is growing interest in aged care advice”.

Aged Care Steps offers the accreditation program in key locations around Australia on a regular basis. Details on the courses and upcoming dates is available at www.agedcaresteps.com.au/training.

“We look forward to providing professionals with the skills and knowledge as well as the tools to build a profitable aged care advice service” concluded Ms Biti.
