Franklin Templeton appoints Senior Director of Institutional Business

Franklin Templeton Investments Australia has announced the appointment of Vivian Sun to the role of Senior Director, Institutional Business.

Based in Melbourne, Ms. Sun will be responsible for managing and building the firm’s relationships with institutional investors in Australia and New Zealand. Reporting into Felicity Walsh, Head of Institutional and Alternatives, the role will support the delivery of the firm’s extensive range of investment capabilities, including alternatives offerings from K2 Advisors.

Ms. Sun joins from Neuberger Berman where she held the role of Institutional Business Sales Executive and Vice President, Institutional Business, responsible for business development with institutional investors and consultants across a range of investment strategies spanning equities, fixed income, listed alternatives, private markets and multi-asset solutions. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman in October 2016, she led institutional business activities at Western Asset Management, representing the firm’s broad range of local and global fixed income strategies. Ms. Sun also worked for six years as an investment consultant with Mercer Investment Consulting in Sydney and Melbourne.

Franklin Templeton Investments Australia Managing Director Matthew Harrison said, “The firm has a long history of partnering with institutions to address their investment needs, drawing upon its deep perspective and resources as a global organisation. Vivian’s depth of relationships in the institutional market with both asset owners and consultants, and her broad experience across asset classes will be invaluable as we continue to build our institutional business in Australia and New Zealand.”

“We plan to further augment both our institutional and retail advisory distribution teams in the coming months, as we seek to best position our business for growth and add further capabilities to our Australian team,” Harrison added.
