Update from FASEA on the Financial Adviser Exam
FASEA continues to work closely with ACER to ensure exam processes are streamlined, accessible and effective and exam sitting opportunities are optimised.
Remote access to the FASEA exam
FASEA announces the launch of its remote proctoring solution. The remote proctoring solution will be available for the February exam and all subsequent exams.

FASEA December Exam
The December exam was held in 19 centres across Australia from the 5 to 9 December 2019. A total of 2981 advisers sat the exam over 95 sessions.
The results for the December exam will be released by the end of January 2020 following a comprehensive marking approach and analysis.
FASEA February exam
The February exam will be held in 17 centres across Australia from the 13 to 18 February. In addition to metropolitan locations, regional centres for the February sitting are Gold Coast, Wollongong, Cairns, Ballarat, Launceston, Port Macquarie, Traralgon, Tamworth, Townsville and Newcastle.
Registrations for the February exam are open and will close on 24 January 2020. Over 1700 advisers have already registered for the February exam.
FASEA April exam
The April exam will be held in 18 centres across Australia from the 2 to 7 April. In addition to metropolitan locations, regional centres for the April sitting are Townsville, Gosford, Sunshine Coast, Geelong, Toowoomba, Bunbury, Mackay, Geraldton, Wagga Wagga and Coffs Harbour.
Registrations are now open for the April exam and will close on 13 March 2020. Over 140 advisers have already registered for the April exam.
Dates and venues for June 2020 exam
Dates and venues have been finalised for the June 2020 sitting of the FASEA exam. The June exam will be held in 18 centres across Australia from 11 June 2020 to 16 June 2020. In addition to metropolitan locations, regional centres for the June sitting are Townsville, Gold Coast, Newcastle, Wollongong, Cairns, Bendigo, Albury/Wodonga, Rockhampton, Port Macquarie and Orange. Registration for the June exam will open on the 2 March 2020 and close 22 May 2020.
Preparing for the exam
To assist in preparing for the exam, candidates can access:
- FASEA FG003 FASEA Exam Preparation Guidance, which includes the detailed curriculum and a suggested reading list. The reading list has been recently updated;
- The candidate video; and
- The FG004 Financial Adviser Exam Practice Questions v3. In addition, advisers who have registered for the exam have access to an online version of the practice questions accessible via their Candidate registration account.
