Natixis IM appoints Louise Watson as Country Head for Natixis Investment Managers, Australia and New Zealand

Natixis Investment Managers (Natixis IM) one of the world’s largest asset managers with almost €1.2 trillion (approx. A$1.9 trillion) in AUM, has appointed Louise Watson as Country Head for Natixis Investment Managers, Australia and New Zealand.

In this role, Louise will continue to drive the strategic goals of Natixis IM, offering high quality offshore alternative and ESG strategies to Australian investors. ESG remains at the heart of the strategic ambitions of Natixis IM, which has set a target to have €600 billion (approx. A$966 billion) of its AUM by 2024.

Reporting to Natixis Investment Managers Head of Asia Pacific, Fabrice Chemouny, Louise will maintain responsibility for current investment opportunities whilst facilitating the growth of the Natixis IM client base. This includes investment strategies across liquid and illiquid alternatives, equities, fixed income, real estate and socially responsible investments within Australia and New Zealand.

Commenting on her appointment, Louise Watson said: “I’m very pleased to have commenced in my new role as Country Head for Australia and New Zealand, and look forward to continuing the good work the team and I have done in helping Australian investors achieve their investment goals, including net zero. We’ll continue to deliver high quality strategies to the market from our strong affiliate network.”

She is ideally placed to lead Natixis IM’s growth in Australia and New Zealand, supporting clients on their investment journey delivering highly active management with a focus on real assets and sustainable solutions.”

Louise was previously the Managing Director and Head of Distribution for Natixis Investment Managers, Australia and New Zealand. She is a member of the Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA) and plays an active role in championing women at various stages of their careers in finance through her work with Women in Super, F3 and the University of New South Wales Alternative Investment Society’s Female Mentoring Program.
