Muzinich MLoan Private Credit Fund receives ‘Recommended’ rating from Lonsec

Muzinich & Co. (“Muzinich”), the global corporate credit specialist, today announced that Lonsec, one of Australia’s most respected investment research firms, has awarded its Muzinich MLoan Private Credit Fund (the “Fund”) a ‘Recommended’ rating.

This inaugural Lonsec rating marks an important step as Muzinich expands its suite of investment offerings in Australia and reflects Muzinich’s robust heritage and expertise in corporate credit.

According to Lonsec’s report, the Fund provides investors exposure “to a differentiated segment of the European lending market, with senior team members who possess deep experience in the banking and credit sector.” As a semi-liquid fund, it offers quarterly liquidity, balancing accessibility with the benefits of exposure to private credit instruments. 

Lonsec’s review highlighted the Fund’s strengths, including its focus on European parallel lending “a European phenomenon born from the European regulatory changes following the Global Financial Crisis” in which banks originate loans and offer the opportunity for other banks and/or fund managers to participate on equal terms.

The report commended the calibre of the Fund’s management team, led by Co-Heads of Parallel Lending, Gianluca Oricchio and Gianpaolo Pellegrini. Lonsec states “Oricchio and Pellegrini are suitably experienced to lead the investment team, having worked across the banking market for 34 years and 19 years respectively” and notes the Fund leverages the support of 32 Muzinich investment professionals located in eight regional offices across Europe.

Lonsec described the team’s structured research process for all new investment opportunities as a strength with fundamental analysis supported by analysis through Muzinich’s proprietary deep learning AI system, adding “the Manager has a well-planned process which appears to be consistently applied, and includes the use of proprietary systems and tools.”
