ETF Securities launches investor education ‘Partners Series’ making sense of the new normal

Kanish Chugh
In this unprecedented crisis, ETF Securities have collaborated with leading Australian and international investment professionals to discuss the big issues of the day and what these mean for investors.
Titled ‘Partner Series’, these are weekly, online video discussions that seek to assist financial advisers and individual investors with relevant insights and views from various industry experts and sources.
“In this period of remote connections, investors and advisers often struggle to make sense of not only volatile investment themes but also how to stay focussed and on course for achieving their investment goals,” says Kanish Chugh, co-Head of Sales, ETF Securities.
“We have created short video discussions which can be viewed by advisers and also passed on to their clients to facilitate and strengthen lines of communication during the COVID-19 crisis.
“The launch discussion with Adam Dawes, Senior Client Adviser for Shaw and Partners and Jon Reilly, Chief Investment Officer for Implemented Portfolios covered what the current situation might mean for long-term investment strategy. The consensus opinion was the current crisis is unlike any experienced in the panel’s collective lifetime so lessons from previous downturns may not always apply.
“Other video discussions saw us collaborate with Jonathan Ramsay, Director of InvestSense, to explore how core-satellite investing works and whether the theory stands up to the current environment.
“We also spoke to Martin Dinh, Senior Product Manager at Australian Securities Exchange, to discuss the growing popularity of ETFs with current market capitalisation at $56.63bn (source: ASX), how they held up in the March madness and future developments for the market.
“We will continue to analyse, investigate and reach out to experts who can shine a light on most pressing issues, be it related to ETFs, other investments or wellbeing. We hope these discussions can bridge the knowledge gap in this fast-changing environment,” says Mr Chugh.
