FASEA releases draft amendments to the Education Legislative Instrument
During the course of 2020 FASEA has announced the approval of a number of current degrees and bridging courses and the recognition of prior learning of advisers through the approval of historic degrees and awarding of credit for coursework to attain a professional designation.
In announcing those approvals, FASEA noted they would be added to a future Education legislative instrument in due course.
To facilitate incorporation of these approvals into the legislative instrument, FASEA has today released for consultation draft amendments to the Corporations (Relevant Providers Degrees, Qualifications and Courses Standard) Determination 2020.
In addition to previously announced approvals, the proposed amendments include 2 credits of approved recognition of prior learning (RPL) for existing advisers who have completed both a relevant degree and a postgraduate relevant degree. Existing advisers who have completed both a relevant degree and a relevant post graduate degree will only be required to complete 2 bridging courses (including Ethics for professionals) to meet their education requirements.
Further, the draft amendment includes adjustments to some historical course/degree details provided to FASEA by higher education providers post registration of the 2020 determination.
FASEA invites feedback on the draft amendments available here. All feedback and submissions on the draft amendments to the Education legislative instrument may be submitted through FASEA’s dedicated consultations email [email protected] by 11 September 2019.
